College Park, Post 217, was incorporated November 2, 1950 and was chartered by the American Legion in 1955. John B. Latimer, Post 28, was founded in the late 1930s and was incorporated December 22, 1958. John B. Latimer merged to become Kennedy-Latimer, Post 28, on August 29, 1974. On November 1, 2016, Post 217 and Post 28 merged to become College Park John B. Latimer American Legion, Post 217.
